71 brake question

I had recently bought a 71 with disc brakes but the werent power disc brakes. Do they make a kit to convert them to power, is it hard to do, and is it worthit? I just no driving it without the power disc just seems to be a great ordeal of leg effort on my part. Thanks

You need to get a brake booster for your truck,Im not sure if the master cyl is the same or not,someone should chime in soon about that.You can use your existing prop valve.Also I believe you use a different hole in the brake pedal assy for power brakes.

i did the conversion on mine, and i feel like it was worth it, sounds like it would be worth it for you based on what you say, i went to a junk yard and took a booster/MC/prop valve/firewall bracket/braces/ booster rod from a donor. made sure the booster didnt leak, bought new MC and hooked it all up, works great. i have heard a rumor that the under dash brace and pedal is different on manual vs. power brake trucks, but on mine, good strong brakes. the only problem is those aftermarket kits are pretty expensive, you could get the firwall bracket and braces from a yard (which no-one reproduces) for $20? new MC for 30-40$ new booster for like 120-130$, even a new prop valve for $60, call it $250 with brake fluid, this kit would be 350$ with a prop valve and some lines, so you can same some $ if you want to:

I bought a kit from CPP www.classicperform.com, cost me about $250 for the OEM style booster and the bracket. Went in really easy.
