Insturment Cluster

On our insturment cluster, what is the wire coming off the top right bulb connected to? I'm assuming it's for the light in the ashtray, but I could be wrong. That or I have a bubba job.

I've got an 85. I just didn't see anything for it in the wiring diagram is all.

Re: Insturment Cluster

Its not really a wire, its a thin piece of plastic that runs to the ash tray
there emitting lite from the bulb in the instrument cluster.

Re: Insturment Cluster

My old 74 1/2 ton had that same set up as did my 81 crew cab and my '90 suburban had it as well. I don't smoke so I removed it from all 3 as it was a PITA to deal with for me.
