steering gearbox ,what years?

my 67 has a sealed steering gearbox , a powersteering pump with the hoses running to some hydrualic cylinder on the tierod. and of coarse it doesnt work. will a normal powersteering gearbox from a newer truck swap right in? and will my powersteering pump work with it? what year trucks can i pick from and also is there any other parts i need to get along with it?

Re: steering gearbox ,what years?

I used the box off a '75 and it was a straight bolt in. I know the pumps are the same, but I don't know about the lines.

My '69 was manual and I pulled the box and pump off the donor.

<edit> '73 to '87 should all be the same.

Yes I think thats right I took my power off and put a manual steering box off of a 1971 and it bolted in the same holes as my power steering box did (1980) c10

Re: steering gearbox ,what years?

Or you could fix you ram assist power steering. All of the parts are still made. Corvette used the ram assist for a lot of years. There is a FAQ on repair parts and where to get them.

Re: steering gearbox ,what years?

If Im not mistaken, 67s dont have the bump in the frame to accept the later style powersteering box. Im not sure if the holes will line up either. It can be done but you might want to search on the topic first to see what others have done.
