Can't find my Head Casting #'s!

I have looked (?) all ver my heads and I can not find my casting #'s to try to figure out what the spec.'s of my heads are. The engine is a 4-bolt crate made in 98 in Mexico for GM (casting off of block). The guy I bought the truck from said the engine is a crate engine, but unsure if it was a short block or long block. I am thinking a short block due to the mild cam (again no spec.'s). The heads are not aluminum. I wonder if Iron heads from summit have an identification on them and where it would be at. I felt the head at the firewall and cout not feal any numbers. I would not thing I would nave to take the intake off. Really not looking to tear the engine apart, just wanted to know for future project ideas.

Aren't the casting numbers on top of the head, beneath the valve covers?

Yeh, Just found and read the Mortech (?) article on casting numbers. They are under the valve covers. The bad thing is I knew that and did not think about it. They should be in the rcoker are valley's. I need to research more before posting!
