Synthetic Oils

Is it safe to use FULL Synthetic in my 1969 GMC? I don't see why it wouldn't be. . . I use it in everything else. I'm aklso thinking of going toa heavier weight like a 15-50. . Any advice or comments guys? Thanks

why go to a thicker oil? If your engine is in good shape, then a thick oil only puts more strain on your pump
Synthetic is great stuff, no reason not to use it.

Don't go with a thicker oil.. just use what the manufacture spec recommends, unless you live in a climate (desert) that its 90F+ when you drive.. even then it doesn't rly help.
Using that thick of oil wont hurt your engine though.. aprox. 80% of engine wear is from starting the engine anyways.

IMO synthetic oils arent worth the extra money to be stuck with it for only like 5hp

you don't add synthetic for HP gains, you run it becouse it is better, and if it is properly tuned (not running rich) the extended drain intervals.
