i was just wondering if it was possible to put 73-87 disk brake components on my 67. if so, then what kind of mods would i have to make, or will it just bolt right on. also, what parts would i need to get off a donor truck if this is possible. thanks in advance for all the help.

probably the easiest way would be to bolt the complete later crossmember assy under your truck....crazyL

There is another thread going on this......BUT since you asked, Yes you can. I swaped the front end off an '81 onto my '68 using the lower control arms, spindles, rotors, calipers, complete centerlink with tie rod ends intact, upper ball joints and the brake hoses. You'll need some assorted brake lines and the master cyl. and prop. valve also. Whole swap took me about a day.....and I'm no mechanic. Be sure to get an alignment after. Let me know if you need any more help.

yep - I just swapped out the complete crossmember on mine - seemed to be just as easy.

I did my swap in pcs, as Snowbound has done. The crossmember, & the top arms are original, the lower arms are 71-72.....all of the rest of the pcs came from a 75 c 10 donor(spindles,rotors,calipers,balljoints, steering linkage,lines, hoses, master, prop valve also). I think it depends on whether the eng is in or out of the truck(mine was in), so I left the crossmember in place.......crazyL

ok thanks, sounds easy enough. one more question, was everything bolt on, or were there any modifications that had to be made in order for everything to fit

On the stock crossmember /disk swap, everthing bolted on with the corresponding balljoints, tierods for the yr of the donor. The later hoses /lines run differently, & the prop valve is mounted behind the first crossmember(2 holes to drill). The brake hoses also run infront of the top a arm, & go through the frame(I had to drill them on the longhorn), but some of the guys are saying that the holes are there on the other trucks. The 75 master bolted to the firewall, with a little adjustment to the brake rod(no booster), as the cam in the BB olds I was running didnt pull enough vacumn for power brakes.....rumpity rump
