This is the 3rd time putting pictures up so I'm sorry if they are big or missing

I have a 68 with a 250 what is the best way to repair a broken ear on a crab? Is there a place I can buy a new crab or just replace the throttle body?

Re: carb help needed

I'd say you may have to take your losses on that one unless you can find one at a junkyard. Try getting one from one of the locals here on this site.

I bought a rebuilt one from local auto parts several years ago and haven't had any problems.

You should be able to find one of those...I would def. replace it, rather that try to fix it. THat is just a mono jet right?

Re: carb help needed

All you really need is a good bottom section off a parts carb.

A crab can grow a new claw. A new ear? I don't think crabs have ears, although they can sense vibrations. So, yes you will have to buy a new crab.

If your not in a hurry maybe you can buy an old carb and steal the part you need from it. If finding one locally is a no-go, keep an eye out on ebay. A shout out on our own parts board will probally be the most productive.

Re: carb help needed

I tried to find a reman a few months ago. They are listed(or were) on the zone.advance and others but no one could get one.I wound up rebuilding mine,I had a partially stripped inlet and I am still going to snag one at the JY when I go.

Re: carb help needed

I think LMC has them in their catalog, let me check.

Yep they do but they are pretty pricey, $239.95, I think your best bet is another member or a junk yard because I never recommend LMC because we have site vendors that may have the same thing.

Re: carb help needed

I know the desire to help out is there, but there are way too many subscribing members helping out what has become a WTB.....which is against the rules.
A simple suggestion of E-bay, junkyard, etc. is fine but offers to sell turn the post into a WTB...and get it locked.
