I think i might have found a donor truck, it is a 71 chev LWB, it is an air cab and has 5 lug wheels. The truck is very straight with little to no rust. They are asking 800.00 OBO. I can us the air on my 67, what about the rear axles? Or whole rear end? It has a 350 motor with a auto tranny. Any suggestions??

If you're planning on drop spindles in the front, you could use the rear to complete the 5 lug swap. Make sure to check leaf vs coil rear as if yours is different, you'd have to cut/weld on the mounts. The air is probably worth that alone if everything is there and works. Any other parts you could use or resell would be a bonus. But it's up to you and your budget, time, and space of course...

I have been told, by a very reliable source, that air cabs have slight differences from non-air cabs. He says they are different cabs. At any rate, would it be easier to swap the cab than the system? With what I'm finding as I pull the HVAC out of my cab for other restoration work, I'm beginning to think that swapping cabs (if it's worthy) would be easier.

way cool i never thought out the springs vs coils, ill check it out. as far as budget dont have one, and i have 5 arces so space is no issue, aslo when i get this one done i want to buy a burb!!! Thanks for help

The cut-outs for the heater/ac units are different between the a/c and non ac cabs. Check out this thread...

I am sure that there is some small modifications but surely someone has put an A/C from a 70's to a non ac cab?
