305E & Holley 500 trouble

I put on my holley, no issues there. It starts and runs fine idling but when i drive it somewhat putts. It is getting to much fuel and running rich/blowing black smoke/ wont go over 40 because of it.

The instructions basically say that the carb. is set at the factory and shouldnt need to be adjusted.

What should I do?

This is the carb.

Check timing, and make sure distributor, cap, rotor, (points?), plugs, and wires are all up to the challenge.
