Attention Oregon/Washington/Vancouver members....were on vacation...

As I type this, I am sitting in a Motel in Eugene Oregon. We decided to take a week off and drive north instead of doing the Disney thing (I hate that F#ck'n place).

Anyway, we are doing some mild white water (kids are 3 and 7), Zoo in Vancouver.....and mabey some off-shore whale watching.

If any of guys are in route, mabey I could come by and say hello.

Any ideas of fun things to do ??

Later....

John... Your wife might Vitoria Island. If you go to Victoria BC and you like fish and chips you have to go to Barb's Place. It is a bit pricey but really good. I have been there a few times. Canada is a nice trip on a motorcycle. Just ask the locals were it is at. oh and I forgot to mention that is floats on the water. Other then that just ask the locals were some good places to go are. We met some guys who ride up there and went into the mountains and on a cool ride with them. Also I have been up to Whistlers Village which was really boring..

Hey John,
You should check out the San Juan Islands. There is a ferry system between all the islands and you can even take your car.
I have a friend that retired and now lives on Orcas Island.
You catch the ferry in Anacortes, outside of Seattle. Have fun.

If you are still in eugene, grab lunch at Cornucopia. 295 W 17th Ave.(w 17th/lincoln) Great variety/quality of food and burgers (and beers!). Get a burger and a lemonaide! It is also very 'Eugene', in a good way.

I'm a bit out of the way, unless you were to come as far east as Spokane WA. I'm about 35 miles east of Spokane.

You could always come to Spokane for Good Guys next weekend

i live up in Tsawwassen , its right on the way to the ferry terminal. If your going to Steveston, there is also a good fish and chips place on a dock. Also pricey but good

Hey John, you missed a great local cruise here in Portland tonight. On you're way back south you're welcome to stop in Vancouver (Washington) and say hi to me and a few 60-66 truck lovin friends. My buddy Dan has a few trucks that might remind you of Dino's rides and he lives a few blocks over. He's got lots of parts too.

Are you guys the group with all the 60-66's at PIR? Last time I went (2 weeks ago) there's was a butt-ton of them there and I was wondering what club I didn't know about. Here's a thread going on it.

John if you come down thru Portland on Wed eve you should hit that.

Re: Attention Oregon/Washington/Vancouver members....were on vacation...

Mike, there are a few crowds of 60-66's there. the "Rotten Custom" guys are there alot too. Dan's rigs all have the "Sick" decal in the rear window. That 69-72 blazer in the pictures is his too. He usaually drives a flat orange and black '65 swb. I drive my orange '65 there too but I get there late so I just park outback. Next week we'll have a few other friends down there with their trucks who haven't been there.
John...you really should slow down near us and check it out. You'll drive right by it all on I-5. What day are you coming back?
Jack

Re: Attention Oregon/Washington/Vancouver members....were on vacation...

Update....well yesterday we did the BC Ferry across the pond to Victoria and hung out there all day...man it's pretty pricey to ride that dang thing.

We are currently still in Aldergrove Canada.....getting ready to make our way back home.....

We were planning some other things to do, but we are running out of out vacation budget....

Re: Attention Oregon/Washington/Vancouver members....were on vacation...

that ferry is a bummer alright and it is no easier for those of us who live here on the island and want to cross over once in a while to vancouver. seems everytime one goes to use it they fares have taken a jump either by fare or fuel surcharge. other than that I hope that you enjoyed your day over here
