Tach Dash values
hey guys, got question here, if you read my other recent post you would know that im hooped with the newer style frame, so we are going to shorten the 71 frame, and im trying to watch every penny, anways......i have a factory tach dash that i recently restored, what is it worth? it has a new bezel..and i took it right apart and cleaned it right up, while it was apart i painted the needles orange again, what im thinkin is i might have to part with it because i need the money for the frame to get it shortenend, im just thinking right now, not forsure but what do you guys think the dash is worth to sell on here, any ideas let me know, and specify american or canadain prices, just to save confusion, here is a pic of the dash,
Thanks, Derek

I've seen them go from 200-300 on ebay (American) depending on the condition of the gauges and color.

I agree with piston, some on e-bay even start at $350, you should be able to get at least 300 as it is.

It ought to be worth $300 since it has new bezel, wiring harness, and is real clean. I got $260 in mine with new bezel, new NOS lens, but I don't have the wiring harness. Good luck Randy

Only input I have is DON'T sell it. Find the money elswhere, or force yourself to be patient until you can save the money for the frame shortening. If you sell it, you'll get the rest of the truck back together and wish you hadn't sold that really nice tach dash you had. Then you'll go out and spend $200 or more on one that you'll have to restore and you'll wind up with the same amount of money spent on a new one as you can get selling the one you already have.
Of course it's your decision, but you asked for input. just my .02, maybe not even worth that much.

Keep it and find a friend who can weld good to help you shorten your frame. You do mean that you are going to a 115 wheelbase right SWB? I can get you all the dimensions for shortening it if that is what you are interested in doing. Me and my friend did mine and I helped him do his and you cannot tell the difference unless you look under the cab at the weld marks.
PM me if this is what you are after If a buddy helps you can get it done for a 12 pack! |

I agree with Tynee and Gene, don't sell it if you can get the money elsewhere, you know that you have put a lot of effort into restoring that tach, if you sell it and later on you decide to get one It'll cost you even more money to get another one like it and this one you already know you have into it.
If you decide to sell (which is totally up to you), you may make more money out of it on e-bay, being an auction and all, here's a link for one that's going right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33679 Good luck and let us know the outcome. Paul.

Hey Derek, I think you need a credit card to pay the E-bay fees but I'm not 100% sure. I set up a PayPal acct which makes buying and selling easier as you don't have to wait for the cheque to arrive in the mail before shipping the item. If you do list it, put it on E-bay.com as the market is huge. Not much on the .ca site. Good luck.
Brian

E-BAY
You do need a credit card to play the e-bay game. They charge you the selling fees against it.
As for .ca or .com, I don't think it matters much. I am on .com and the only think I think that is different is I pay my fees in $US. .com will show all items listed in Canada, if I'm not mistaken as long as you say that you will ship to there. Hope this helps. Peter |

I agree ''DON"T SELL"!!!!!!!! Easy to sell hard to replace, find other funding. I sold a M-21 Muncie 5 yrs ago for $375, got it for $150. Now you can't touch one for less than $500. Better keep it.
