Re: Stepside with two-tone paint
I had seriously thought about 2 tone on my 69. I may still do it, but I haven't seen one with the bottom 2 toned. Like the 67 68 fleets that godown the body lines that go over each fender. Its difficult to get it to look right where the step is.

Re: Stepside with two-tone paint
It's been a few years, but Custom Classic Trucks magazine did an article toward the back of the rag about doing a 2-tone on these trucks. The way cfvulcan did his is one of the schemes that was shown. Painting the top of the sides of the bed and maintaining that line all the way down the profile of the truck is nice. It's the best way, in my opinion, to get a stepside 2-toned and not have it look sketchy. Other than that method, the regular two-tone, where the cab is the secondary color, is the only way, in my opinion.

Re: Stepside with two-tone paint
Not a lot of difference now but before the bottom was repainted you could really see the difference in the 96GMC standard red and marron. In time I will get the top redone a couple of shades darker or maybe even black.

Re: Stepside with two-tone paint
Here's mine. It's not done yet. I got side tracked. I'm putting the bed back together now.
