Re: Stock, dropped, or slammed?

DROP IT!!!!!! I'm not into the whole slammed stance stuff. I also don't knock what others do. I still just like an old school "hot rod" stance. I don't consider 4/6 slammed, but I would say that a 3.5/5 would look killer. You said you're on a budget so the 2/4 drop would give you a nice ride height for little dough.

Re: Stock, dropped, or slammed?

But, it does have rallys?

If the drop does happen it will be with 2" spindles and rear springs, I guess 4"?

Good comments. I like how a 4/6 looks but with all the speed bumps at my work and apt. and all the crappy roads and hills and steep driveways here in greenville, I feel it would be impractical for me to drop it that much... baby steps, baby steps...

Re: Stock, dropped, or slammed?

That second pic is awesome. Im planning on a 2/4 drop myself here when i can scrounge up the money for some rear springs. I probably should so my cab mounts first though...reguardless, your truck looks good how it is.

Re: Stock, dropped, or slammed?

Nothing wrong with slammed if it's done proper.

People in the Ghetto with a P.O.S. Don't generally do it proper.

Back to topic: I like em lowered. 71see10 and his son both run 2.5" drop spindles with stock springs in the front. Due to the springs being stock the ride is the same. They both also run 5" drop coils out back. That's a good compromise on drop and driveability with their setup. They don't drag or bottom out and both of their trucks drive/ride very well.

If you are going to use it as a truck, keep it stock. I voted for dropped because I know you have another truck that does your haulin'.

They can still be used as a truck when you build it that way..... This is @ least a 5/7 drop & that's an 18ft car hauler w/a swb rolling chassis. I'd say that qualifies as working.

My vote goes for dropped. A 4/6 isn't radical but if you're hesitant, 2/4 drops are a nice compromise.

the "hot rod" aspect of it has little to do with wheels or trim and everything to do with how hard it pushes you back in the seat

I did a 2/4 and love it. Kind of wish I went 4/6 sometimes, but that would have been too low to do things like lug 400 lbs of wood home.

Re: Stock, dropped, or slammed?

Thanks so much for SO MANY votes! I was hoping for a few more "stock" votes, but I guess the verdict is in... down she goes

My S-10 has "settled" another 1/2 inch since the pic above, it's now at the full 2" up front. I like the slight rake, so I'm going to not install my 2" rear blocks, but use 1" instead.

Hopefully my Christmas bonus is "nice" this year.

.

I still like stock --- but concede that it will look great with a mild drop too -- anything over 4/6 looks too much for that truck --- but then again, when you bag it, its only slammed when its parked, so you can have the best of both worlds by rolling through town at a 2/4 drop ride height

As long as I own the truck, there is a 99.9% chance the truck will NEVER be slammed.

I'm having trouble on deciding if I really want to do a 2/4
