hard top removal / lifts
Helping a customer come up with a way to easily and safely remove his double wall top from his Blazer 4x4. Looking for some kind of pulley system. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried doing a search on the board? There were several different threads on the subject in the spring/early summer.

I have 4 eye bolts in the ceiling and I use ratchet tie downs on each corner to lift it up. I tied a secondary rope, just in case. It's a one man operation.

This is what i built. The 800lb hoist is an $80 unit from harbor freight. My neighbor bought a $200 hoist from northern tool and it was exactly the same.. Could easily be done in a low clearance garage too.

Soon it will be Eye bolts directly through the reinforced top... but for now i slid a 2x4 under the top while still on the truck and bought some cables and ran them from eye to eye... Wouldnt really recommend this way (i had no paint at the time of the build) But have heard good things about eye bolts directly through the top.
