Re: 400 small block!!!

NICE!!
If I was closer (and had motor money right now)...
I miss the 400 in my`72 K/20 Highlander and would love to run another in my shortbed 4wd project.I know I`ll spend more when I go to build the 350 I have into a 383.
Good luck!

Re: 400 small block!!!

.060 overstock? So this 400 is now approximately a 410 cid or not?

Re: 400 small block!!!

Are you sure its 60 over ??? better Mic a bore to see for sure. If thats the case that thing will have a very short life 40 is the max bore GM reccomends without block fill and it must be sonic tested for that. reason I ask is I'm a player

The pistons say .060 on top of them, my guess is more likely a 406 ....

Re: 400 small block!!!

.060 is a lot of meat to take from a 400 especially the 511 block. 509 would take that better but still asking for a short life in that over bore. My school was on a 400 .040 over .040 is danger danger.

Re: 400 small block!!!

Is there any way to talk to the guy who built it to find out what is really going on?
