Check your passenger side core support where it mounts to the frame. On one of my trucks the front clip was sagging. What had happened was the battery, over the past 40 years, had helped to rot out the core support mount and was letting the clip sag on that side.

That's what my neighbors thought about mine. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I've wondered myself at times. Looks like you've already got brakes, a decent exhaust, and a working drive train. My truck didn't come with any of that stuff. Some people have to wait years to see their truck actually propel itself.

What year is yer truck?

I replaced the rad support recently. Front support to frame mount rotted out completly. But my cab did not sag as your is. Check the body mounts while yer lookin. Lemon - not really. It can be saved with a bit of work. Usually it depends on how much work & $ ya want to spend. Me I'm happy with a nice driver.

For example - If your frame aint rotted out, you can clean off and coat using products from POR-15. I've been using their stuff for over 10yrs. No problem.
Suggestion of POR-15 items to use:
Marine Clean - Degreaser
Metal Ready - rust remover - pre primer
Rust Preventative Paint-

Working on a tight budget - I used all of the above for refinishing of the replacement radiator support. Came out nice. No pics of process though. Will use again on frame, suspension and other portions of my truck: inside doors backside of fenders and bed too.

Check it out: http://www.por15.com/

Good Luck with yer rig.

That rear cross brace is supposed to be straight.

The rearend/panhard bar setup is a 65-up setup. The panhard on a 63-64 ran from a mount on the drivers side frame to a bracket that was welded to the axle housing on the passenger side of the differential. The 65-up had a cast in mount on the side of the differential housing (like yours) for the panhard to attach to.

Re: more pics and questions. this is fun! i bought a lemon

Rear axle is a 65 or 66 - As TimE pointed out you can tell by the tack-bar mount. Likely 3.73 but could also be 4.11 gears in the pumpkin, probably open carrier with 30 spline axles instead of the earlier 17 spline that were in 63 and 64 versions of the 12 bolt.

For the lean - check the passenger floorboard to see if it is dented up, that would pull the body down on that side. Could it also be that your parked on grass that isn't exactly level (maybe that's adding to the lean effect)

It looks like you got a pretty solid start though and good luck with it.

Re: more pics and questions. this is fun! i bought a lemon

you might have a broken coil spring on the pass side, that could contribute to the lean , and the pass wheel not being in the right place in the wheel well.
I would go over the truck with a tape measure, left side and right, and see if all the mounts are in the right sopt, and if they got the frame square when they re welded it in the back.

since yo want to drive it sooner than later I would concentrate on getting all the running issues ironed out(suspension, brakes, exhaust, guages, wiring), and then chip away on the bodywork at your liesure.

there is a chance if your frame is crooked, or bent, that you might have to switch it out, but I hope finding one if you need to would not be too hard...I know doner trucks are still plentiful around here...
