Anyone running a set of Coys or TT2's in 20 inch on a truck only mildly lowered ? I am going to put something on the Black truck but I do not want to lower it more than 2.5/4 or maybe 3.5/5 . I will not be C-notching it so I wonder if I should stick with 18's like I had on the tan truck or wouls 20's look OK ? Thanks ,

Frank, doesn't matter what you do that truck it'll look sweet. I personally don't care for the look of 20's on vehicles this old, looks great on late model stuff tho. JMHO, to each his own.

The 1st pic was a 5/6.5... I dont think 3.5/5 will be low enough to make it look "right". The 2nd pic is sitting at 6/8. If your doing a mild drop... I would stick with the 18" set up that u were running on the tan one. Its not C-notch... but I did have to trim the bump stops down as well.

I think the 20's will still look fine @ 3.5/5 drop & you won't be buzzing the stock front inner fenderwells constantly. Can't help ya' w/the Coys & mild drop but I'll put up a couple of the Coys on my 74. 20x8.5's w/5.25BS & 255/40's; 20x10's w/5.5BS & 295/40's.

at 6/8 are you having any isues with the front tires rubing the iner finders??

The inner top side of the tire will when I hit dips at 40mph+... but not bad enough for "me" to raise it back up.

What was your combo again? Even @ a 20mph crawl, mine would buzz the top of the wells up front (I could not wedge my fingers between them).

Going back & focusing on the gaps between your wheel lips vs. fender lips compared to mine, I see more rubber on yours. So mine might be a hair lower?

Frank, 20's will look just fine. If you don't lower it much, the larger wheel will look even better. Just adjust the gap with the proper tire, and your good to go.

Are you considering the polished, or gray center?

I agree. With the drop you suggested, some 20x8.5's w/245/45's & 20x10's w/295/45's would add a little more meat. 275/45's would also work out back & are a common OE size which might be cheaper.....

3" spindle and 3" spring up front-20X8 w/5''BS and 255/40/20.. And I agree yours looks lower.

I think I'm in the minority here, but Coy's never really look as good to me unless they have a 40 series or lower tire. I think it's the lip design. I know the lip is flat instead of stepped, but the outer portion by where the bead sits seems kind of rolled up almost perpendicular. To me, that would spell 20s instead of 18s if I were going with Coys.

I've never had a set, mind you. That's just opinion and observation.

this is what my 82 looks like at 6/8 drop. But im runing a big block with the big block springs and it still sits to low with a 3 coil and 3 inch spindle.So Im going to try a 2 inch coil and work from there. the way it sits in this picture the iner finder was rubing on the tire most of the time. I thought about modifying the finder but i want to see what it would look like raised up an inch first.

the tire sizes are 255/40/20 on 20/8.5 in front and 295/40/20 on 20/10 at the rear

Hey Frank,

Know this isn't a truck, but here's my blazer with what was a 4/6 with 20x8 4.5 bs and 20x9.5 5.5 bs running a 245/40/20 and 295/40/20's.

beautiful truck....I think anything you do to it will be fine

I figured.

Just want to make sure they are what you want.....not in a hurry or need to sell them. Last thing I want is buyers remorse from a board member.

If you'd like I can go get a pic of what they look like on my '79 as it sits. It's got about a 6/8 drop on it right now (looks like about a 6/9 drop with all the stuff in the bed...lol).
