Thumbs up Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Hi everyone Great site you have here good people too .Heard about this from Kic at http://www.klr650.net/forums/

I used to have a good Chevy truck a while back but sold it.

This good will is really awsome stuff glad I could pitch in .
It really touches my heart I was in the middle of a project building a 67Barracuda and my friend who's garage I was useing Passed at a young age due heart problems .His family kicked me out of the garage and his girl friend out of the house .So another family member could move in .So my project is done due to no garage it's been out side under a tarp and all good body panels in a run down shed unfortunatly everthing was all stripped at the time and are stating to get light surface rust .

Posted this on a couple other car Forums

http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/forumdisplay.php?f=10

http://www.mopowerstyle.com/forums/index.php

To hopefully get more people aware of what great thing your doing Good Luck all well that ends well hope it don't over load the server to bad everyone spread the news it works.

PS My best wishes for Dawn and family

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

This thread should have been in General Discussion since it started. I hope to be home in a couple weeks, depending on how much "extra" work we pick up here. I'll help as I can. Seiverville is 50, 60 miles from me. I haven't been able to read the whole thread, can someone sum up the plan for me?

Yup, we made contact with her and verified her story is legit, which we really already knew. We have started an auction on ebay to raise money for her and are planning a get together/flea market at her house. The link to the auction is in the very first post of this thread.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

It's cool to see people from other sites visiting and even donating. Wow!

I "think" the recent updates added some new features to the site. I may be wrong, but I just recently noticed them. At the bottom of each page you will see a "Bookmarks" section. It looks like the image below.

If you don't already know these are social bookmarking sites. Three out of those four sites are probably in the top 10 most visited sites on the internet - with Google being the first. Anyway, the point I am getting at is if we submit this to those sites and the story gets popular we could create a TON of traffic and interest for this story.

I'll go ahead and submit it to Digg and edit this post in a few minutes with the link. If you have an account at Digg, please Digg it Up! If not, go register for an account and do the same. (Just to clarify. Click on the link and Digg the story. Don't resubmit the same story.)

Click on the picture below to Digg it Up!

If you are going to submit it to any other sites, go to the first page of this thread and do it from there. Otherwise I think you will only be submitting the last page of this thread, and that might leave people visiting for the first time confused.

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

I hate to be a thread "HOG", but Dawn sent me an email and I wanted to share it with you guys. I deleted some parts, because I felt like she might not want that posted for everyone to see.

Dear Trai:
Hi. It was so good to meet you and your beautiful family and I can't thank you enough for taking time out of your weekend plans to stop by. I'm sorry for breaking down like that. I kept telling myself I wasn't going to, but it's just that I try to keep a smile on my face so my kids don't worry so much about me. I've always been the one everyone turns to for help and I try real hard to do as much as i can for anyone that needs me. For you to let me know how many people care about what happens to me and want to help me was just overwhelming. I have never experienced such unselfish compassion and I could never find the words to express my appreciation and I THANK GOD FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!! My daughters have graciously agreed to stay with my mother for a couple of days so I can calm down a little ......Well, again, I thank all of you with all my heart and I'll talk to you soon. Goodnight.

Yea, sorry about that. It must have been left from anther auction. I tried, but I can't change it now that the auction is running. But, when you do the check-out, at the very bottom there's a place to fill in seller's discounts. Just put in the amount the shipping was, and we're even.
thanks,
Bill

Here's the latest-and-greatest....we're up to $750
Can I get some names to go into these blanks?

I'd appreciate it if you would leave me eBay feedback and include your forum name in the text. It would sure make in a lot easier to keep up with all this.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Ok Guys...we are only $250 short of our goal. Then again why stop at $1000. The sky is the limit. If I am giving away five Classic Truck (Oct. 2003 issue) Magazines and one pair of repop rockers...I want to make sure I get my money's worth. Lets keep the $$$ a flowing. Hey...you can't take it with you!

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

I would really like to see this thing hit $1500 or more. We could probably get Dawn's 67 on the road with what comes in over $1000. It's gonna be great to get Dawn some money in her pocket and get her parts sold for her, but if you guys wanna really see a woman light up then start talking to her about that 67 SWB settin in her garage .

Re: Ebay - Chevy truck widower selling their whole lot

Wonder if I could ask a favor?
I had a guy do the buy-it-now on a 69 Dodge Superbee I had on eBay last week, then he backed out and gave me negative feedback. My first negative ever. Problem is, now eBay calculates your feedback percentage using only your feedback received in the last 90 days, so all those 300 feedbacks I got over the past 8 years aren't counted, and now I'm down to 98% positive. I relisted it (it's on auction now) but I didn't expect the negative from him, or I would have waited to do a "non-Paying-bidder" report on him.

My favor....would you give me feedback for Dawn's picture when you buy it, please? I know it's a selfish reason, but that way I can get my percentage back up.
Thanks,
Bill
