Not this year we haven't. In fact we didn't even get above 70 here but 3 times and even then they weren't together.
But I'm planning on moving south soon and I want the comfort of a.c. for the trip. I've been up here since I was 9 yrs old back in '72 and am tired of it. I want to know what the REAL WORLD looks like first hand. And to be able to see a woman in a bikini WITHOUT having to pay a cover charge!!!

"women in bikini's" is reason enough in my book..........as promised here's a couple of pics of my engine bay with the compressor on passenger side.my favorite part was getting rid of the "ugly black box" in the corner.when i ordered mine the only controller available was to use a stock non a/c controller.i had a decal made up for the faceplate.that digital control won't work on a cable operated system.i quickly checked their website and i think it's still that way.but, one phone call will tell.

Re: Vintage air install

That looks great. Did you need anything special to make the kit work on the passenger side or did it come like that. I really like how it gets rid of that stupid looking box and accumulator hanging out in the middle of the engine compartment.

you can order it either way.it's a little more money.because you also swap the alternator to the other side.so you end up having to get different brackets.

that is a cool looking piece.wished it would work on mine.like i said in an earlier post.i think they only offer a cable activated system.the defrost, heater vent.and the valve that controls hot water all open an close by a cable wire that looks like a bicycle brake cable.just like the stock unit that's why i had to use a stock slide control.they didn't have a electronic controlled system yet.vintage air maybe able to put something together though.something else to check out guy's is two other companies hot rod air and southern air.when i checked into mine neither offered a "surefit" like vintage.but said it was doable with components.

Re: Vintage air install

The Dakota Digital setup won't work on the Sure Fit series of our trucks, it ONLY works witht he Vintage Air Gen-II's.

If you get the Gen II and want a good price on the Dakota controller, let me know.

Just so I understand correctly... you can order it this way and it comes with all the correct brackets, including the alternator... or you have to buy that seperately?

Re: Vintage air install

I'm working on a new controller for my 87 similar to the one above. My shop pretty much
can make anything you could dream up. We have made a bunch of different controller's for all kinds of cars.

it cost's a little more for the bracket's on a passenger side order.i got shipped the wrong one's twice.i finally ended up getting them from allan grove.that's who vintage air uses anyway.but grove got it right the first time.
