What Starter do I need?
Need some help if someone could take the time.. Question I have is I'm swapping out the stock truck 4 speed in my 67 C10 to a 700R4 from an 87 suburban. I have the 292 in the truck and I will need a starter that mounts to the block instead of to the bell housing. Is this a small block chevy starter with the in-line bolt pattern? Thanks, Mike

Re: What Starter do I need?
why not just get a starter for a 292 with an automatic?

Re: What Starter do I need?
It will depend on whether you use a 168 toothed flywheel or a 153.
168 uses a stagger, 153 uses inline bolt pattern |

Re: What Starter do I need?
Thanks for the replies. I pretty much figured the 292 auto starter would be what I would buy, but was hoping it might be the same as a SB starter, I will get with the local parts store tomorrow. Thanks again...
