Re: who is the cost for complete restore a chevy truck?

depends... what is the original condition, what are you adding, how nice is it going to be, will you do the work or a shop?

Just to add a new engine it's about $2000 USD for a basic crate motor. Restoration is a very vague term that has different meanings to different people.

Average for a basic restoration could be $5000-$10000 added onto the cost of the truck.

Really a lot of variables though to put a dollar figure on it.

Thanks, I think a truck in normal state, and suppose i have to do paint and body, engine, electricity, wheels and tires. I know its depends of variables but is just an intrigue. Here (in Argentina) for example I need an average of 30000 pesos argentinos = 10000 dollars with a inline 6. Thanks badies

Re: who is the cost for complete restore a chevy truck?

$10,000 just to buy the truck? Or to do all that work? You could find a truck and do that work for $10,000-$13,000 here if you wanted a good non-show truck.

good luck...

just basic numbers here but you get the idea...
good starter truck - $5000
paint - $3000
tires/wheels - $1,000
engine - $3,000
electrical - $500

Thanks, 10,000 just for to do all that work. Here the cost here are (in dollars).

truck with inline 6 - 6000
good paint - 4000
tires/wheels (15") - 1500
engine (inline 6) - 2000
electrical - 400
interior - 1500

These numbers depends to the truck but generaly are that.

Unfortunately here we do not have to buy all LMC truck. Here the parts have bad quality. I am collecting money to order them in LMC truck because de cost are the double. I envy you!

good luck, sounds like the prices are similar... except for the spare parts.

Try tri_pro automotive for any sheetmetal, he's on this website.

Re: who is the cost for complete restore a chevy truck?

I am already at 21,000 including the price of the truck.

I still have to paint the outside.
New exhaust
New Drive shaft
Redo the full suspension.
New rims and tires.

I am doing this because i wanted a bad ass 40k dollar truck but instead of buying one made and try to believe someone what was done to it I decided to do it my self. The amount of money you spend is endless it is up to you how far you want to take it...

Re: who is the cost for complete restore a chevy truck?

All the labor has been done by either my self or my two best friends. The only labor I have to worry about is the paint and body work.
Other than that I am all set!

Re: who is the cost for complete restore a chevy truck?

I feel like most people can "restore" something, especially by just buying parts off the net or out of magazines and I have to buy a lot of things that way also. When you can say I built that part or I made that part really means a lot to me. I also like things that stand out in a crowd and not something that looks like everything everyone else has. I know you will not have this trouble being where you are located but here you really have to think outside the box to stand out in the crowd. You can restore a truck but if you don't take time to fix the things the factory didn't spend a lot of effort on, like door gaps and making sure everything lines up makes a big difference in the end result. Little things like that add up in time and money but make all the difference in the world in my opinion. Good luck with your build and keep us up to date with pictures.
