Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
I have searched here and there and everywhere and am convinced that there isn't a single picture of a front roll pan installed on an 81-87 on the entire internet.
Thanks to anyone who can produce one.

Re: Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
Thanks, thats what I was looking for. Oddly enough, now that you posted that pic of the dually--that guy,(unless he sold the truck--I haven't seen it in a really long time)lives right around the corner from me.
Can someone answer me this: Why are they pushed out in the front--like a little bumper, instead of just being flush with the fenders and grill? I just went and looked, and as far as I can tell, it is to clear the frame. But if one were to cut the end of the frame to put a flush front roll pan on, then a bumper could be reinstalled pretty easily using the original brackets just slightly modified--all you would have to do is drill another hole in the top part of the frame and bracket and move the nut and bolt a few inches back. Somebody tell me if I'm wrong. And copperchevy, do you have some photos of your truck somewhere. I haven't seen much of it--only enough to know that I wanna see more.

It juts out because of the lower valence (filler panel) below the grill, you would have to make another one of these without the lip for it to be flush. Most of the roll pans require you to cut the frame horns.

Re: Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
The two pictured valances ,even though they bump out still required
cutting the frame by several inches this is one of those modifications that doesn't get undone with out some welding Mark Last edited by impalamark; 08-28-2008 at 06:05 PM. |

Re: Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
I'm not worried about cutting it up. Metal can always be reworked.
Captain, the one that you sell--do you retain the filler panel, or does this take the place. And when installed it bulges out like the ones pictured? Has anyone seen one that doesn't bulge out/is one available somewhere?

Re: Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
All rollpans that are sold utilize the lower valence and "jut" out as pictured above. If you want something that doesn't, you are looking at custom work.

Re: Anyone have pics of front roll pan 81-87?
I've got some more thinking to do. But when the time comes, I'll probably get one from you and cut it up to fit the way that I want.
Thanks for the help.
