wheels
I'm starting to look at wheels and really like the torque thrusts on our trucks but am pretty open to others. Where is everyone getting them?
I've set everything up based on a 12" wide wheel in the rear and an 8" in the front so I would like to stay pretty close to that, but I think i'm going to jump from 15" to probably 17" or 18". So where is everyone getting their wheels from and what size did you get? Thanks guys Frank

Re: wheels
The thing about Torque Thrusts is that they look so good and so many are out there you'd think the trucks came stock with them
I like them too but want chrome instead of polished aluminum (don't like polishing). I'm looking at the Coys in 18 inch but would need to get with someone on the board to get a set of hubcap spacers made. Cragar has some nice chrome mags too. I can't afford the custom options out there. Seems the backspace is different for a lot of these trucks so you'll need to measure to make sure, especially if you want 10+ wide rear rims. |

Re: wheels
I agree they could be stock! Or at least should have been.
As far as back spacing I already narrowed the rear end and am running a 4 1/2" backspacing now and could go probably another 1 1/2" before it rubs. I'm looking to stay at 4 1/2 - 5 on back spacing. I'm just not seeing many wheels with a 5 on 5 bolt pattern in 12" wide. Having them custom made is way out of my ball park. At this point I'm just looking anyway. The other option is to run a spacer but I'm not real fond of that idea. Frank

Re: wheels
I would recommend going 17 inches over 18. 17" Tires are a lot cheaper and there is more selection (both sizes and brands)
I had 17" TT2s on my 72 GMC....they looked good. Never did polish them though |
