Drip Rail/Inner cab rust

PO had painted the '67 before I bought it. Looked good. 5 years outside have shown me there was some rust under that paint.

PO filled in the drip rails with filler and painted over them. Drip rails have some rust. I now also have two very small holes/bubbles in the cab interior above the windshield. Still solid metal around them.

Here's my idea. Get the Eastwood rust converter and Eastwood silver rust encapsulator.

Small screwdriver as cleaning pick and brass wire brush out all material from the filled drip rails.

Treat drip rails with rust converter. Spray rust converter into inner cab area through the small holes and through the holes where the attach point of the visor goes.

After the rust converter dries completely paint the drip rails and drip rail undersides with rust encapsulator. Also spray it into the inner cab area through same holes as the rust converter.

Re-spray white (color of the cab) topcoat on the drip rails. Run seam sealer in top of painted drip rails.

Think it will work?

Re: Drip Rail/Inner cab rust

Sounds like a plan to me, at least for another 5 years.

Re: Drip Rail/Inner cab rust

That is basically what I am doing right now on my truck. I think the only way to get on the inside of the roof without cutting it all up is to spray through the holes for the sunvisors.
