Anybody good at GMC Grill Work?

I replaced the grill on my 72 GMC with one from a junk yard. The original had the lower driverside mounting tabs broken off. It has a few dents in it but can easily be straightened by someone who know how to do it.

Anybody here ever straighten one or have any success wleding a new tab set on a grill?

I hate to throw it away.

It`s just steel so repair like any other body part.Is it chrome? That`s a problem unless you are prepared to drop some serious change and likely pay a trim restorer since bondo and chrome don`t get along.

Actually, I know a place that can plate plastic (electroplate not vacuum metalize) and they do plating over bondo or other fillers on part restorations.

Re: Anybody good at GMC Grill Work?

Did they ever make them out of Stainless Steel?

This is really light weight and the chrome will clean up. It is just dull.

The mounting tab is just missing.
