Seem's to me that the gen.II and gen.III's with the 4L80's in stock form is set up for heavy pulling or towing. They just don't seem to put the power to the ground like the 4L60 does. I would opt for a 5.3 / 4L60 combo, they are powerfull, efficiant and cheap !! More than enough for that sweet little 77 you just bought!!
