another transmission question

is the bellhousing on a 292 6 the same as on a V8? Ie - can I swap from a powerglide to a TH350 or even a 700R4 without worrying about that end of the transmission?
I assume I would have to change the crossmember mount spot, driveshaft, shifter etc.

yes they all have the same bell housing shape/size/bolt pattern. Just make sure it is off of a chevy engine.
