It was an apperance option on the 68 trucks. Rare? On the pickups I would call them unusual, but not rare. But it is another thing that makes a truck "special" to someone. I will say I have only seen one 50th burb, which is mine and no 50th Panels. So could they be rarer? I have seen a quite a few pickups with the 50th package. I also post a 50th Van here about a month ago. That thing was real cool.
Here is what to look for: The pickups came with the 551 Aniversary Gold/Ivory Paint with a gold and parchment (white) interior. The white would be on the roof and on the lower panels. They all had the trim package and chrome bumpers. The Burbs and Panels had the 551 paint code with Fawn interior. The white paint would only be on the roof and not on the lower panels. They also should have the trim and the chrome bumpers. I also believe they either had to be a Custom or a CST. Look at the bottom of the page on this link: http://www.dingospad.com/trucks/68data/databurb2a.jpg Last edited by 68 Suburban; 02-15-2003 at 03:39 AM. |

That van would be cool as hell. Like driving a flat nosed bus. hehe. Did they make anything in '69 or '70 that semi resembled that paint scheme? Because I know where there is one that I thought was a 50, but I looked again it had the flat hood but six lugs.

There is a color called "saddle" that is very close to the 50th Aniversary Gold color. I think on the 68's it was code 555

This picture is a nice example of a restored 50th anniversary special that was for sale a while back.

Hutch, that bed in your avatar looks like a 50th, is it yours or what? Could you post another pic of it? Thanks
