My new truck- 08 Silverado
Hey guys,
I figured I'd post up in this forum since I actually bought a new 08 Silverado the Friday before last. I don't actually have it yet; it's still on its way from the factory. It was only about 96 hrs. old when I bought it- cool! I've been over in the 73-87 forum for years now. It'll be sad to see the '86 Suburban go, but I have had it the last 15 years. It was good enough to get me to buy another Chevy! What I bought.

What did you get in it when you ordered it? Don't forget to post some pics when you get to take it home

I love getting a new truck. They smell great. They are a kick to drive, too- you'll be amazed at how comfortable it is.

Be looking forward to seeing it in the "flesh" so to speak.
Congrats on a new ride.

Re: My new truck- 08 Silverado
Hey, guys.
I bought the LS model with the 4.8L and a 3.23 rear. This is what I actually wanted as I only tow 3,000-3,500 pounds a few times a year and only on relatively flat ground these days. This truck has plenty of power as well as get up and go. I LOVE the sound of the exhaust note! To me, the LS package is the best value Chevy has going right now. You get power windows front and rear, chrome, A/C, and all the goodies that count. The dash even will show the transmission temperature- cool! The LS model gives you the same exterior trim, carpet, and door panels as the LT, but with the W/T dash and seats. It even has heated power mirrors! I even bolted on a set of WeatherTech No-Drill mud flaps within an hour of getting it home. These are awesome and I highly recommend them. The Line-X spray-in bedliner rocks, too. Anyway, here are the pics:

Re: My new truck- 08 Silverado
Very nice! That's my favorite "new" GM truck color. Make it a 5.3L Z71 and that's the exact truck I'd buy. I don't like the tiny bed crew cabs. I've had two of my 6'2" friends sit in the ex cab of my '00 and they fit just fine.

Re: My new truck- 08 Silverado
Great looking truck! I will have to post some pics of my recent acquisition, they could be relatives...
Any other plans for the new addition?

Re: My new truck- 08 Silverado
I do believe I'm done. I might add a tonneau cover someday, but am leaning away from one at the moment.
I did add a USCG base sticker to it yesterday, though... Having put some miles on it now, I can still say that I really love the sound of the new small blocks- just so really, really cool!

Re: My new truck- 08 Silverado
Nice truck and color! I was about to purchase it's exact twin last week but my 3 year old insisted on red, so now I have it's cousin.
They ride nice, huh? They are also the most comfortable trucks I've driven (6-3 / 250 lbs). I agree on the LS being a deal. With rebates and employee pricing they were about 8K off sticker... Nice score.
