front disc brake conversion
Hey guys,
My '49 is in need of some brake work - I do know that the master cylinder leaks as well as the wheel cylinders. I not sure of the condition of the drums and shoes yet, but after seeing the rest of the truck I'm thinking it will be best and safest to just replace everything and have some peace of mind. In compiling the list of parts and costs, I'm beginning to think that the front disc swap might be the best bang for the buck. Right now, I'm leaning towards the kit over at chevsofthe40s - http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/browse....at=180T&skip=0 The kit at LMC is also looking good - http://www.lmctruck.com/ICATALOG/CA/full.aspx?Page=68 - the actual catalog has a kit with a booster and master cylinder I'm looking for any feed back you guys might have on any of the kits out there. |

we are dealers for MPbrakes and can offer a lesser price to members. We also sell individual components and offer our own kits.
for example we sell the db1752b kit for $365.00. We also sell our power boosters and mc kits with pedal for $199.00. All made in usa Last edited by mbgmike; 09-14-2008 at 11:49 AM. |

Re: front disc brake conversion
I upgraded my brakes with a new power booster and dual chamber master cylinder.
Here's a link for a kit on e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1947-...7138QQtcZphoto
