Re: closeout centerline smoothie help

would a 5.5" backspacing work on the back and a 5" on the front?

Re: closeout centerline smoothie help

5.5 on the back may be cutting it a bit close. for instance I was about 1" from the bed fender buckets with 8" wide rims and a 4" backspace. you can put some 1" adapters on the rear and it should be fine.

as for the front, I'm thinking the same thing. you may run into a bit of a lock to lock clearance issue, but a 3/4" spacer should help there as well.

hopefully someone with big rollers can chime in here with real world experience, but it has been done before. I forgot who it was, but someone on here even had those exact rims and a project truck.

and I like them ALOT!!!

Re: closeout centerline smoothie help

You need to figure out if you have the narrower or wide rearend. I have the the narrow rear, 4.5 backspacing on 10 inch rim and have very little room on the inside and the tire lines up with the outer fender lip on the outside.

BTW, the narrow rearend is .75 inches per side, 1.5 total narrower than the later rears. I think 70 was the switch over year so you might have either.
