Re: 14 month K10 Build thread!
I am sure I will be asking you many questions very soon. You turned out an awsome truck! Mine is very similar, but I have to take some more pics. I have posted these before as they are all I have right now. I hope I can get my baby half as close to perfection as you have. Congrats!
Chuck

Re: 14 month K10 Build thread!
I think the color is also listed as woodland green. It's a fleet color that has been used at least in to the 90s. It shouldn't be a problem to find it in 2 stage.

Re: 14 month K10 Build thread!
Makes me want to keep my 67 short fleet 4X4. I like the K5 I have and would like to keep em all but momma and I have agreed that the small used car lot must go. I have a green that looks similar on my Camaro. The next (and hopefully last paint job) will be a 90's Corvette POLO green, very dark and metallic. It would look sick with the white!!

Re: 14 month K10 Build thread!
This truck is without a doubt my all time favorite on this site. It has to be one of the very nicest 67-72 shortbed 4x4s that I have ever laid my eyes on. When you look at what it was before, and then during the build, it really makes you appreciate just how much time and effort went into it.
As far as whether you should have used a base coat clear coat paint, or a single stage as you did, I really don't feel that it hurt it one bit. It makes it more period correct if you ask me. I wouldn't have changed the way it turned out one bit. I believe the right decision was made on paint. I have never seen it it person, but from what I see in the pictures, one word describes it. AWESOME!!! From what I've seen as far as base/clear paint I personally think they are way over rated anyway. I'll probably catch some flak for saying that though. I've just seen way too many with the clear peeling, and or falling off. My 86 K10 is a victim of this. I'm still not sure if I'll bother with a base clear on mine when the time comes just because I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on paint that may or may not last. We'll see about that when the time comes. One thing is for sure though. I want my truck to look like a newer version of yours when it is done someday! ...Joe
