items together would be great. They're going to go into his belly box of his 53' trailer. Obviously, don't need the rotting wood... if the bed strips are in good shape, I can have those painted.

Paypal ok?

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

Here are a few more closeups of the worst of the surface rust. The grass is a little tall so I lifted each side up and looked and nothing along the bottom edge of the sides. I was alone, so unable to get pics. Really clean bed.

The most surface rust is along the top edges. There looks to be a little bondo in spots along the top edge - probably to fill in some dents.

Let me know if you need any specific pic taken.

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

Let me know if you need anything else that could be added to the load. Got about anything you might need. Or if you have a neighbor that needs something from down here.

I got my Blazer from NH and the guy that delivered it gave me a box of rust that shook loose on the trip from the north - he had an enclosed trailer and swept it out before he left. Funny guy.

I have a lot of stuff. You might be thinking about heavy stuff since it has a free ride now.

Be sure and have him let me know when he is ready to leave California and his ETA here so that I can make the appropriate plans.

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

Well finally got it apart. Just need to finish the cross bars. Here are some pics. I will send along just the good cross bars. Look at the wheel covers to see if you want them or not, turned out the corners were pretty thin. The bedsides are solid. The only rust through were a couple of the holes along the lip, on the inside, where the bed actually attaches. The rails between the boards were mostly toast. The dark spots below the wheel opening is just PB Blaster residue. The front panel just has surface rust. Let me know what you do not want. I will wait until he gets here to see how to wrap these, depending on how he will have them sitting in his trailer.

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

Do you have any better cross sills or wheel wells?

Don't have any wheel wells, but may have some cross sills, will have to check. I think maybe only one of them was bad. Will see what I can do. Any word from your friend?

I spoke to him last night. He was a bit grumpy, but last I knew he was calling you. I will call him.

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

Looks like it is just one of the narrower cross sills - one of the two in the center, that is bad.

Do you have a solid one I can buy from you? I already sold off my other bed parts, thinking this was solid.

I planned to replace the wood floor and strips, so that's not an issue. I am picking up re-pop fenderwells, but shipping on those sills would kill me.

Re: WTB: Longhorn Bed

I don't have any more long wide bed cross sills. The only other wood floor longbed I have came from California and I need to keep it complete. I will send the bad one along - maybe it can be patched with some angle iron.

I will put the word out and see if anyone close has one that I can get before he gets here tomorrow.

I was able to save the gravel guards and the support rods that go in front of the wheel wells.

Rick, do you still have the frame this bed came off of? I need pics of how to configure my frame...

Thanks.

Contact him. If it is still a rolling frame, he should be able to help you. He is a great member.
