Pitman arms
I've got a power steering box from a late 70's or early 80 chev pickup 2wd,I'm using a 72 frame and had bought a 67-72 pitman arm. It looks like it should fit but there is still alot of spline showing, is the splined knob larger on the later boxes compared to the earlier ones?

Re: Pitman arms
That is about as much spline that is showing on mine, I thought that it should go on farther than that. It appears that it is only half way on the splines. Does anyone else have any input, just wanting to be safe and not sorry later. Thanks 79gmcsierragrande your picture does help.

Re: Pitman arms
I took the pitman arm off my '85 C1500 a couple of weeks ago, and it looked like the picture that 79gmcsierragrande posted above. There was about as much of the splines still showing as was covered by the arm. It was on there wicked tight, so it wasn't loose or anything.
