Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I got some new headers hooked up, and decided to go ahead and do the plugs, and plug wires while I was at it.
It's sweet, no more exhaust leaks!!! Greg |

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
The Army has posted me to my home province & so I'm able to work on my trucks again... SO I woke my green 67 from its almost 3 year sleep at my uncles farm & drove it home. I then installed LED backup & brake lights from 724x4a/cchevy. They look really cool & wow are they bright...

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
Did a top end overhaul. Discovered that the truck had two different heads on it, a 487 casting and an original 441 casting, but the 441 head had bad valve guides. So I just replaced both heads with some GM crate engine ones.
Unfortunately the engine runs rough now. Still have to get it dialed in. |

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I've had the truck over a year now and I washed her fo the first time (I know, pretty sad huh).
I finally hung up some cabinets in the garage and cleared the way so I can now put her under a roof, hurray! |

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
Cleaned all the old caulk out of the drip rail (felt like a dentist), POR-15'd it and put in the new 3M seam sealer stuff. Clean up and paint some time this week.

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
i will have to join the "front end removal team" also. then I had my little boss get things squared away on the inside, so he could tell me what i needed to get done with next . then he told what tools to hand him to get his front end back in great working condition i told him i think he needed new ball joints, he told me that was not the problem

Looks like he lost a couple tie rods to me?
...and he really needs to use jack stands if he's going to be under that thing!

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
I finished installing a complete '93 serpentine drive on the front of my 350.
Also completed some research on POA air conditioners. Getting ready to restore my air and didn't exactly know how they worked. Made a run to my local Pick 'n' Pull and scored some 8-lug steelies. And while I was there, I happened onto a Turbo 400 already pulled and just sitting on the ground, as if waiting for me to load it up in my wheelbarrow and trundle it outta there, which I did. |

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
well after a couple of month of researching and pondering I finally opened up my 700r4 that I bought 3 months ago and did the 2 wire solenoid to normally open switch wiring and then cracked opent the tail shaft housing to convert the electric speedo to mechanical, talk about pulling hair out!!. then I e sniped some 2" front drop srings for 2.20!!! sweet deal and won another auction for 67 only radio knobs. now to find a working radio... (hint hint)
I also won a new hayden 16" fan for 10.00 to convert to electric my buddys 60 chevy 3/4 ton lifted. all this and I just got elbow surgery last wednesday. (i cant stay still) nversatisfied: thats classic man, I wish I had a boy to play in the garage with me, I`m working on converting my baby girl to a tomboy, she already lost my 3/8 drive socket set. (took after dad on that one . )

Re: what did you get done for your truck this weekend?
This weekend i got the front bumper shaved. I used 1/2" sq. stock to plug weld the bumper holes left by the bolts. I left enough on the back side so that I could use those to affix the bumper to the original mounting points.Once i know for sure it's ready for a final mount, I will then plug weld those pieces to the mounts. Then i can spread some filler to fix the lows left by the plugging. I'm still not ruling out using a donor bumper to do a cut and splice. anyone got an extra?

It was the 3M stuff, 8361. I went to "West Marine" supply and purchased those empty caulk tubes where you can put anything in them, cut the foil pack, stuffed the end in and squeezed it into the caulk tube. I used it just like caulk then, and resealed the tube when done. I originally bought 2 foil packs, I would up only using the one. The stuff reacted just like the instructions say, except in my opinion you are not going to effectively "brush" the stuff on! I simply masked the area off, spread/smoothed it with my finger. I pulled the tape/masking immediately. It turned out ok, not "precision perfect as I had hoped, but then it was my first use of the product. I suggest making a small "trowl" from a body filler applicator, cut it about 3/4" -5/8" wide and use that to smooth it. I did just that when repairing the 2 small front seams above the windshield, and it worked great. Frank
