Re: Are these lines normal in my front rotors?

I thought the lips were stock, they look perfectly rolled. But what do I know.

Re: Are these lines normal in my front rotors?

A guy @ the machine shop that used to turn our rotors (years & years ago) told me they were wear grooves. Once the rotor was turned down enough the grooves were gone & you knew it was time for replacing them.

I always thought that was a possible reason...... but not definitive. These days, they just mic them to determine if they're worth turning.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Nope, rotors are smooth, inside to outside (not counting the stock center groove, slotted or drilled one). If you have a lip, your pads have worn away the metal of the rotor. It's common to all brakes. Even drum brakes can create a wear groove which makes them a real PITA to remove.

We were given two ears and one mouth for a reason... listen twice as much and speak half as often...
