Brake Pedal Switch
I believe it is part of a broblem I'm having and your threads lead me to think I need to check it. What does it look like and where is it attached? Does anyone have a picture? Many thanks for the help!

Follow the break pedal up to where it's mounted and you will see it. It is round tubular shaped with a plunger on the side facing the pedel and a 2 wire harness plugged into the back of it. WES

under the dash, above the brake pedal this connector with white and orange wire is attached to it.
You can jump this connector with a piece of wire and if your brake lights come on its probably the switch... also there is a little bit of in-out adjustment to the switch jeff

Will do! I had brake lights (in fact all lights) prior to turn signal switch replacement. Now I have no brake lights. When I prssed the brake pedal before, the right front turn signal and dash indicator would come on !!??? And, the BRAKE warning light still stays on when the key is turned to the right. I am thinking that it will boil down to a ground problem. I'll post the results, and THANKS! |

your brake light in the dash indicates a hyd problem, nothing to dowith the brake light circuit going to the back.
The front turn signals coming on, makes me wonder if you have the flasher missing from the fuse box for the 4 ways... which 'could' cause no brake lights. It also tells me the button for the 4 ways is in the on position. The fact that they come on when you hit the pedal, tells me the switch down there is working, and the power is getting to the turn signal switch at a minimum |

Thanks a million for all your help! Believe it or not, after a year of fussing with the electricals, lights, signals markers, etc, everything works just the way it's supposed to. HOWEVER, I must have screwed up the horn because that was working before replacing the turn signal switch. I had a feeling I may have shorted something. Why? Because when I was testing for power with the signal switch just hanging there, the horn went 'honk' and nothing since. I think there is a breaker or module up front??? The goal is getting it inspected this weekend for sure. Thanks again.
