I just bent my factory rod to fit, drilled a hole in it and used a cotter pin

I feel your pain.

I bought the polished version with the return springs and I'm very happy with it. I also purchased the kickdown bracket add on, which worked very well too.

I'll try to get pics of it on the motor.

I have the same bracket as Pyrotechnic, except not polished. Kicking myself for not getting polished. Bracket works great. Throttle cable snaps in, and you can buy a kickdown bracket that bolts to bottom size of the throttle cable bracket.

the kickdown brakeet works well i have a holley in my truck and i think thats whats keeping my truck from being any faster it tends to shift the truck too soon and i have no more adjustment in the kickdown. do you guys have pics of the kickdown bracket and the part numbers from jegs.

Re: Pic of carb linkage with edelbrock 1405

Just a special note, if you ordered the kickdown bracket add on, it is meant to utilize the same screw as the throttle cable mount. This really limits your adjustment of the kickdown since if they share the same screw, they can only go so far apart.

In my case, the kickdown wanted to be much further back then the throttle bracket, further than using the same screw for both would allow. The good thing here is the slot where the cable mounts ride is very long, so I was able to take a stainless button head allen bolt and a nut, then mount the kickdown mount further back on the slot where I needed it to be. Your situation maybe be different, but that's how it worked out for me with all stock cables.

If you look closely at my picture, you can see how much further the kickdown mount is compared to the throttle mount.

Re: Pic of carb linkage with edelbrock 1405

Actually, the Turbo 400 doesn't have a kickdown cable at all. It uses an electronic switch on the gas pedal that senses WOT.
