Drops?

So I'm new to the custom truck scene and I'm looking into getting my first truck, and i definately want to get it lowered.

What does 5/7, 4/6, etc. mean?

What is a body drop?

What is the advantage of getting airbags?

Please post pics of these drops.

thanks

Re: Drops?

"searh" button would help you alot no offense

1. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=204533 its how many inches your truck is lower from the stock height. plus i looks better
2. I cant explain in detail but you pretty much cut up the cab floor so it sits lower on the fram and closer to the ground.
3. it looks sweeeeeeet

What does 5/7, 4/6, etc. mean? It's the amount of drop. In these examples, 5" in the front and 7" in the rear. This can be accomplished in many different ways.

What is a body drop? The old school term was channeling. It is a method of lowering the body over the frame by raising all or sections of the cab floor up.

What is the advantage of getting airbags? It's an adjustable suspension that allows you to drop really low for slow cruising, and raise it up for highway speeds.

Re: Drops?

you can also do a stock floor body drop which involves doing modifications to the frame, and keeping the stock floor intact

For the most part yes, but you have to set it up right and use shocks that are made for air bags. Then you will ride like your on air...
