? about steering box leak

My power steering box is leaking around the input shaft. The box appears to be alright otherwise. I am in the process of replacing all front suspension parts and would like to take care of this leak at the same time. Is there a bushing/ seal available, or do I have to buy a reman. steering box. Any input would be appreciated.

Thank You,

There are seals available for the input and pitman shaft. I just bought the pitman shaft seals yesterday, and the local autozone had both seals in stock

You can go to www.autozone.com and check pricing, but the lower set of seals (there were two in the box) are around $8.

Thank you guys, I figured there were seals available, but have no experience with steering boxes.

OK...I'm trying to get the old seals out....anyone have some advice. I read in my book that you can turn the wheels all the way to the left with the engine running to get them out. My truck is not running yet, and I want to replace the seals because they leak...help!

Yes normally with the truck running you could loosen the nut and jerk the wheel one way are the other a couple of times and it would blow the seal out and you could repace it.

Since your truck is not running yet you may try drilling a small hole and use a small dent puller to pull the seal out.

Thanks guys. I put some trans-x stop leak in it about a year ago and it slowed it way down but it still leaks. I will replace the seals when it warms up some.
