700r conversion
I have installed a 700r trans in a 71 two wheel drive 350 engine. it was originally a 3-speed manual. I have a quadrajet from an automatic with the throttle, autotrans bracket from a 85 truck. The tv cable adjustment doesn't look correct. It is racheted out nearly all the way at wide open throttle. It looks like the bracket is too far away. What bracket and cable set up is everyone else using? I am going to get a tranny mechanic to check the adjustment but I would like to try to get it right. Thanks in advance for any info.

The 700r4 is about 2"s longer tha 350, It also has a "lock-up"converter. Since it sounds like you are not using a computer you will need a togle switch on the dash or purchase a kit made by "Painless" that installs inside the pan. It term of the cable adjustment that bracket should work, but you cable could be a little short. I need to check my log book I kept when I bulit my truck to see if I may have any other notes. However I do use the computer because I installed Throttle body injection and a 700r4 in my 72 2wd Blazer.

CustomMike, check Jegs and Summit mail order. They have cable brackets that you may need. They have them for around $27.
Also, check BowTie overdrive's web site. They also make a bracket that works with Holleys or Edelbrocks. Good Luck
