Cool New style mirrors on '73 -'87 trucks!!

I just saw a '91 Sub with '90 style mirrors on it. It was gone before I could get to my desk pick up the digital camera and take a pic. The mod was simple, bolt on. The burb had the factory chrome "ear" type mirror removed. The new style mirror were bolted with the middle of back plate aligned with brace of the small/large door window glass. I think the mirrors were from a specific model since some the new style mirrors actually take up most of the corner of the door window. Next time I see it I'll take a pic to post. Anyone else seen this type of mod? I liked it but the Sub mirror stick out too much for my style. I like the sport look and these looked good on the Sub.

I don't know if what you saw was aftermarket or not, but there were smoothie-type (88-98 style) power mirrors available on 91 Suburbans. I had a truck in for service that had them - I phoned the dealer immediately to find out - and they were original equipment!

They looked okay at a glance, but half the mirror hangs up over the top of the door so that you actually see the backside of it through the side window. I guess its a matter of personal taste.

Yes these were factory. Look here for some pics: http://forums.chevytalk.com/forums/F...ML/000958.html

BTW u2slow, I agree, they look out of place.
