transfercase ?'s

ive been working on my new 68 k10 for the past couple weeks now and i have decided to find out exactly what im running underneath, here is a pick of the back of my t-case i was told that 68's had the rockwell 221, is that what i have of is this a different t-case if so what is it

Now that is interesting! Unless the pic is tricking me, someone has added an extended fill neck on the side of your transfer case so it can be over-filled.

Can you get a better pic of the left side of your transfer case where that pipe with the elbow and pipe with cap is located?

Before mine got low on gear oil and gernaded, I thought that something like that with a reservoir would be a great addition to a T221 to avoid problems when the gear oil gets low. I was thinking about something that would allow you to keep an eye on the fluid level.

Is there a hole in the floor of the cab to fill that pipe from??? It was such a PITA to fill it normaly, I can't imagine trying to get fluid into the 221 with that addition. Cool idea though!

i will get a couple better pics of the tube up tomorow
the in the tunnel for the shifter was made bigger, im not sure why but it could have been for access to the fill tube i will get a picture of that aswell

here are a few pictures of the fill tube, i looked closer ate the tunnel and no it is not accessable from cab it looks like its just some treaded pipe that someone put in the tcase

I imagine that tube could be filled with a pump set-up like at a lube place or service station.All this stuff is hard to fill at home for me.That sure is a good idea,though.
