Stuck in 4 wheel drive
I have a 90 Jimmy with an np241 tranfer case.Today i put new u-joints in.I put the truck in 4 hi so I could tighten the front driveshaft bolts and when I put it back into 2wd nothing happened,it stayed in 4 hi.It goes into nuetral and 4 low ok.It worked fine before I changed the u-joints.Anyone have any ideas.Thanks.

Re: Stuck in 4 wheel drive
I am wondering if it is electrical. It has the button selector on the dash, right?

No it's a floor shifter. And the hubs are free, but when I drive it it feels like it's in 4wd.

Re: Stuck in 4 wheel drive
Jack up a front tire and see if the hub is stuck-----or sometimes just by lifting the tire off the ground it will release
