Looking to tap the knowledge base!
I'm in the midst of rebuilding a 72' Chevy K10. As the end is now in sight, there are a few questions i've found:
When cleaning and redoing the Parking lights, marker lights, and tail lights, what color should be srpayed on the inside of the lights. Is a silver paint or something reflective preferred opposed to a white? Also, i need to replace the dash pad or buy a cover for the old one. Any advice on which is better? My interior is off-white with a medium olive on the exterior. Thank you in advance for any help that you could offer. Mike |

Re: Looking to tap the knowledge base!
While I don't know what originally the insides were painted, I know that if you paint them white you'll get much brighter light output. Nope, the 'chrome' paint is just silver, and silver paint won't reflect as much as the white paint will.

Re: Looking to tap the knowledge base!
Agreed, the white will make them brighter. Originally, the light housings were just galvanized steel.

^ I agree.
Replace the dash pad.I haven't used a cover but doubt it would look good for long. You can usually buy a dash pad reasonable from one of the Bb vendors.Get it and install before the glovebox and instrument panel.

Re: Looking to tap the knowledge base!
Thanks so much for the information, I will spray with paint. I figured the dash pad would be better than the cover, but wondered, with an off white interior, if I could find the correct replacement color.
Any advice on availability? Thanks, Mike |
