Re: So You Want A Big Diesel In Your 67/72?

Man,207 views and only three responses? And,they all love it?C`mon, don`t be so shy.Tell us how you really feel.
I love these trucks so much I love to see all kinds of shapes and forms of what people do.I think this guy plans to stretch the cab and who knows behind that.I told him a big long Suburban body would have been awesome. But,we both figured finding decent enough donors would be tough and not so cheap. But,wouldn`t that be awesome rolling along with 15-20 buddies in that coal-burner?The guy`s a very talented truck mechanic and has big plans for power.

Re: So You Want A Big Diesel In Your 67/72?

My uncle crushed a 67 C-60 Fofth wheel. I have an emblem from it it reads.

C/60
DIESEL

It had 6V53 I told him I wanted it, but he forgot and crushed it. He's in Upstate NY. But it just needed a cab.

I literally cried when he told me that, then I got furious.

Re: So You Want A Big Diesel In Your 67/72?

Yeah,it`s a work in progress. We`ll see how it looks next year.I`ve been looking at these dashes and across these hoods since a couple years after I got my license. When I got my 1st Blazer I thought it was so cool to look forward at what I was used to,then turn around and see back to the tailgate. No glass behind my head. Then,I got my first Suburban and how cool was that to look back and see two rows of seats with a bunch of kids and their dogs going to 4H in my "truck".Same view to the front.I got a C/30 and put an 11' utility bed on it with a 15' rack.It was like a medium duty truck in size, but same from in the cab.I`ve always wanted a medium duty and do a CheyenneSuper interior. It`s also cool to take a truck and put a ground pounder motor in.It`s the same inside, but a total differeny ride. So,I`m imagining sitting up there with a big diesel and two big smokin`stacks justa humpin`on down the pike with the same surroundings I`m used to.I think that 9500 is a beautiful truck, definately easier on the eyes. And,the factory done it!But,of all the different things we see attempted with these trucks I`m likin`what this guy is doing.Funky ugly duck lookin`thing that it is.He`s into these trucks and is a diesel mechanic so this what he came up with.It was a wrecked truck and he has very little in it at this point. It`s all for fun.

I like the 9500 Diesel alot more - that truck is wicked! Not so sure of the one that is pictured first but as long as he digs it, that is all that matters!

That 66 on the D-max chassis is sweet. First thing I read when I got mine.

Re: So You Want A Big Diesel In Your 67/72?

I totally disagree about any simularity with taking a truck and lapping a newer bed on.This is a totally different category. This isn`t a pickup for one thing. It`s a unique creation, not a truck trying to get away with the wrong bed on it.At least it has round wheel openings. It is a big rig that a 67/72 lover used his favorite cab on.It`s a total step away from anything you`ve seen.
You can`t compare apples to oranges. This is apples to cucumbers.I don`t think this guy was trying to make something to look any better than either original form of the trucks he fused.Guys that put late-model beds on 67/72s aren`t doing it to be funky. This guy is trying to be funky.
It`s not for looks.It`s ok to like the look,though.Just imagine splittin`gears,sounding like a big rig,all the capability it has,and still sittin`in a 67/72 cab.Imagine a big 5th wheel travel trailer behind.Or a lowboy hauling a few 67/72 pickups.
