72 fleetside vs stepside
Is there a difference in the shortbed frame between a fleetside vs stepside? Can I assume the two can be switched without any real modification.
Also, would the spid indicate if a truck is a fleetside or stepside? Are there a differences in the the Cheyenne option between the two? Sorry of all the questions. Just trying to learn...

Re: 72 fleetside vs stepside
As far as I know there are not any differences in the stepside and fleetside frames. I have a '68 step and had to get another frame for it from a '67 fleet.

No differences except for the rear wiring harness,

Re: 72 fleetside vs stepside
the SPID shows the bed style in the model number, but hardly anyone knows where to find the info.
The cheyenne package on fleetsides had lower trim and tail light trim, and a tailgate banner, where step sides did not. |
