Lets build a Raised Crossmember!!

First, we laser cut everything out, except the lower cross shaft mounting block.

We manufacture the lower cross shaft block as a whole unit, then cut off the end caps and machine the edges.

Then we press brake form the pieces.

Here is a pic off all the pieces after bending.

Everything is now tacked, and removed from the jigs. Its ready to weld up.

All ready to go.

Re: Lets build a Raised Crossmember!!

With me being in manufacturing, I like seeing the steps it take to bring a product together. Looks good.

What are th 4 small tabs on the bottom in the last picture for?

Any pics of how the rack mounts to it. Looks a little flimsy, I could be wrong. Is there a spacer or does the rack mount behind the tabs?

Re: Lets build a Raised Crossmember!!

Lyrikz- I was not ripping on his product. Relax a little. It looks like there is no gussets perpendicular to the rack mount location.... Which it may not need. It is a simple question. It looks like only a 1/4" plate is holding the rack.

Re: Lets build a Raised Crossmember!!

There are a couple guys here that continue to run to each post in defense of one builder or the other.

Questions concerning a specific product which are directed to a vendor should be answered by the VENDOR of said product - not by another board member.

The vendors pay good money to be able to talk about their products here and some of you need to learn how to relax and let the vendors ANSWER THE QUESTIONS IN THEIR OWN WORDS.

This will go a long way to help prevent alot of the love/hate pissin' contests we've seen in the past few days.

Thanks.

Re: Lets build a Raised Crossmember!!

That was pretty cool seeing how you fabricate your crossmember. I always love seeing things built. Thanks for sharing!!!

This looks like a real nice setup, something I was looking for a few years ago, is this for air ride only or can you use spring coils also.

Very clean design. Nice work. I can't wait to see these on the road, and the price is right.
