There is a little used tire shop on the North side access road of I-30 between St. Francis and Buckner Blvd. I have gone there for a few years now. He's an honest guy, and is cool if you are cool to him. The fact that it was a civic might make a difference since that is an emmisions car and he might look at those with more scrutiny. On a 71 it is a safety only inspection so he knows it is basically lights and horn...

If you go really dark just remember at night you won't be able to see much when backing up (unless you got some serious back up lights)

I'm all in with the gunrack idea. My seats won't allow it, or I'd have one already. If you like that idea Thomas, we have one here at the shop that Allen pulled out of the 1-ton.

The 5% limo tint would probably do the trick.

I also like the mural type coverings that are posted above. They have so many designs it's unreal. Thought about one of those on my truck, but will probably just end up tinting the windows.

In Texas, you can literally spray paint the rear window, as long as you have at least one side mirror. The only windows they regulate are the windshield, and side windows.

I just got my truck inspected a month ago. I think the only reason the guy (about an 18 year old youngster) even drove it is because he just wanted too. When he came back around the building he was grinning from ear to ear. He proceeded to ask me all kinds of questions about the truck, none of which had anything to do with the inspection. He didn't check one light, blinkers, the horn, nothing. He opened the hood for about 3 seconds, said "awesome", and went in to get my sticker.

Last year I got an old timer, and he gave me hell over the clear tail light lenses with red bulbs. Said they looked amber to him. I convinced him that if I ever got hassled, I'd tell the cops I installed them after the inspection was done. So he put the sticker on.

I don't know if I am a rear window graphics kind of guy but I did like the subtle one with the guy and his hunting dog although I would prefer it without the people. I have the sliding rear window too, so I don't know if these would be able to be cut for that or not.

I'm gonna try the suction cupped panels first because I can take them down at night, I don't think I will need anything except for on the two outer panels so if I do go with dark tint, I can leave the center sliding panels the same as they are and those are the ones I look out for backing and changing lanes anyway, so that's plan B.

Hüper Optik® ceramic film. i put it on my scion, works awsome. and it isnt dark so you can freaking see out the windows at night.

i have been thinking about doing this to my truck too, but money is tight at the moment... soon though.

My favorite is still the headache rack, with louvers or mesh. Super Seventies look, baby. Allmans on the 8-track, squeaky styrofoam cooler for an armrest.

Granted, it probably won't look right if you're the least bit custom.
