who out there is running tbi
i am looking to use a tbi set up from a 92 chev c1500. i am on a very tight budget. so any help would be great.

I've got a TBI from an 89 bbc on my 68. It was pretty cheap overall and runs well.
I used the Holley fuel pump for their Commander TBI system and plumbed a return line into my fuel sender.

check the 73-87 section, there's several conversion threads there. very wise move to switch to TBI for driveability in my opinion.
